An article on how Bhagwan Sri Krishna made the most sacrifices in Mahabarata
Bhagwan Sri Krishna has made the greatest sacrifice.
He is an epitome of wisdom, righteousness, valour and love. He is the poorna incarnation of Bhagwan Vishnu. He is a possessor of infinite strength and knowledge. It is just impossible to describe him.
- He sacrificed his entire life for the establishment of Dharma. He sacrificed his entire life for the protection of this mortal world.
- Bhagwan Vishnu took birth as Bhagwan Sri Krishna to Ma Devaki and Vasudeva ji, in the Yadava clan to establish Dharma.
Translation : Fulfilling his responsibility is his Dharma and the protection of this world is his responsibility
- His uncle Kansa was a tyrant ruler , hence one of the objectives of Bhagwan Sri Krishna was to kill him.
- According to Harivamsa Purana , Kansa came to know from Narada , that Bhagwan Vishnu himself , would be born as the eighth son of his sister Devaki to kill him while according to Srimad Bhagwatam Puran, Kansa had come to know about it from Aakashawani.
- Hence even before his birth , his life was in danger. Before him Ma Devaki gave birth to six of her sons, who were killed by Kansa. His elder brother , Balram ji , who was an incarnation of Shesh Nag, was transferred to Rohini, another wife of Vasudeva.
- Bhagwan Sri Krishna was carried off by Vasudeva ji to Ma Yashoda and Nanda Baba. According to Harivamsa, Ma Devaki and Vasudeva ji were in under house arrest while according to Srimad Bhagwatam , he was born in a jail. The difference is probably due to kalpa bheda. Whichever Purana you take, he was born in prison and his life was in danger , even before his birth.
Translation : His entire life is a sacrifice
- In Vrindavan , Mata Yashoda showered immeasurable love on him. Bhagwan Sri Krishna too returned her the love she showered on him. It is just impossible to describe the love between them. Even if the entire earth becomes a page and all the oceans the ink, still it is impossible to write about their relation.
Translation : A very cute child(Bhagwan Sri Krishna) surrendered his heart, soul, mind, and body to the lotus feet of his mother(Ma Yashoda).
- But just to fulfil his responsibilty to establish Dharma and righteousness, he had to leave Ma Yashoda at the age of 11, whom he loved more than himself.
Meaning : Finally he had to leave Ma Yashoda, whom he loved more than himself to fulfil his responsibilities. Hence his entire life is a sacrifice.
- In Vrindavan during his divine pastimes, he had made a lot of friends. He used to steal butter from the house of his devotees and thus would steal their hearts too. Gods can come in any form to please his devotees.
- He was the source of joy, delight, entertainment, fun and enthusiasm for his friends. He showered immesurable love on his friends and received the same from them. But to fulfil his responsibilities of establishing Dharma and righteousness and to protect this world, he left all of his friends at the age of 11.
Meaning : Who would want to leave their own dear ones( thoughts of Bhagwan Sri Krishna most probably) , to whom will the sight of such a lovely friend(Bhagwan Sri Krishna) not attract. But what to say about destiny, it always does the unexpected, even if we don’t want something not to happen, it unexpectedly happens. We don’t want to leave our lovely friend , Krishna but destiny has something else in store for us.
- Shri Radha Rani is the heart and soul of Bhagwan Sri Krishna. She is the Shakti of Bhagwan Sri Krishna. The love between them is transcendental, unique, divine, amazing, immesurable and exquisite. Yet to fulfil his responsibilty of protecting the world and establishing Dharma, he had to leave her at the age of 11.
Meaning : To fulfil his duty of establishing Dharma and righteousness, he had to leave Shri Radha Rani, who is his life. Hence his entire life is a sacrifice.
Deeper meaning : Shri Radha Rani and Bhagwan Sri Krishna are inseperable like the rays are from sun. Hence they are one and cannot be seperated. This seperation was just physical , while in reality, Shri Radha Rani had emerged into Bhagwan Sri Krishna. Similarly, one can explain the case in Ramayana. When Mata Sita was abducted by that low life shameless rapist Ravana, she was seperated from Bhagwan Sri Ram physically only. Bhagwan Sri Ram and Mata Sita are a single entity. Mata Sita is the Shakti of Bhagwan Sri Ram and is merged into him or case can be taken as vice-versa too ie. Bhagwan Sri Krishna is merged into Shri Radha Rani and Bhagwan Sri Ram is merged into Mata Sita. These actually were divine play by Bhagwan Vishnu and Ma Lakshmi to teach the meaning of true love.
- He spent almost his entire childhood in Vrindavan. The land of Vrindavan nourised Bhagwan Sri Krishna. He has many sweet memories there , but to fulfil his duty of protecting the world and to establish Dharma.
Meaning : He has to live the land of Vrindavan now which has nourished him and has given him beautiful childhood memories. Now the moment for parting with our friend has come, but how can we leave you , O Kanha as our mind is not willing to leave you.
Meaning : Finally he left Vrindavan, his entire life is a sacrifice.
- He then killed Kansa and crowned his grandfather Ugrasena, as the new king of Mathura. Now I don’t have more left in me to describe more of his sacrifices, hence I am just summarising it.
- This led to his hostilities with Jarasanda, who attacked Mathura 18 times but was defeated everytime and his life was spared as he was destined to die from Bhima’s hand.
- Even after being defeated multiple times, that idiot did’nt learn and kept attacking Mathura. So to ensure safety of his people , he shifted to Dwarka.
- Just because he was concerned about the safety of his people, many call him Ranchodd, coward etc. He could have easily interefered with the destiny and killed Jarasandha, but he did’nt. He kept the safety of his people above his image. Hence his entire life is a sacrifice. ( He finally got Jarasandha killed at the hands of Bhima, which was as destined).
- Narkasura used to abduct women and force them in his harem. Finally after killing Narkasura, he rescued all the 16100 women. They decided to commit Sati and give up their lives. But Bhagwan Sri Krishna , again without thinking about his image , married them and gave them a respectable position in the society. He gave equal love and respect to all of his wives. The people who point fingers at him now, anyways would have done the same , had he not married them.
- He had to endure a seperation of 12 years from Mata Rukmini , just to respect the curse of Sage Durvasa, which he could have easily reversed. Mata Rukmini, like Shri Radha Rani, is the heart and soul of Bhagwan Sri Krishna. I have already explained the seperation part in case of Shri Radha Rani. Same logic can be applied in the case of Mata Rukmini too , as Mata Rukmini is Ma Lakshmi too. I consider Mata Rukmini and Shri Radha Rani equal , those who have other beliefs , please its a request keep that to yourself.
- Tried all possible means to stop the Kurukshetra War. He went to the Kuru Sabha and tried his best to persuade Duryodhana for peace. He even offered the option of giving 5 villages to the Pandavas, but that dumb and low life Duryodhana did’nt understand anything. He even showed his Virat Roop as a warning, but still that low life thug Duryodhana did’nt pay any heed.
- He even talked to Karna and tried to bring him to the side of Pandavas, which would stop the war, but Karna denied his offer.
- Still got blamed by Gandhari for the Kurukshetra War, who actually was responsible as she did’nt fulfil the duties of a good mother .She even cursed Bhagwan Sri Krishna about the destruction of his Yadava clan, which he received without any hesitation and did’nt reverse it even though he was very much capable of doing it.
- He lived the simple life of a cowherd , though he could have easily taken birth in a wealthy family.
- He had to see his entire clan getting destroyed infront of his eyes. He finally after being shot by the hunter Jarra on his toe, left the mortal world through meditation and went to Vaikunta.
- Hence his entire life is a sacrifice.
JAI SHRI KRISHNA !!
